SA ACCOUNTING FIRM PERKS PARTNERS WITH KICKSTART FOR KIDS

KickStart For Kids are proud to announce a new partnership with Adelaide accounting firm, Perks, with a generous donation of $30,000 towards initiatives for vulnerable and disadvantaged children and youth.

The not-for-profit organisation helps disadvantaged South Australian school children achieve positive educational outcomes and increase self-esteem through school breakfast and lunch programs, mentoring programs and their Camp KickStart school holiday care program.

Perks, which is one of the largest privately-owned accounting and wealth advisory firms in Australia, has 76 team members who will volunteer with KickStart For Kids to help them with their breakfast program at local schools.

Perks team members who cannot commit time to volunteer but want to support the charity, can still donate via salary sacrifice. The support through time and fundraising comes after Perks recently formed a Social Responsibility Committee (SRC) and surveyed all of their team members on the causes they wanted to support.

Overwhelmingly, the majority of team members indicated that they wanted to focus on disadvantaged children in South Australia and, specifically, KickStart For Kids.

Team members wanted a charity to be local, and one that could not only see the difference their dollar was making, but one that they could actively get involved with by volunteering their time.

Perks CEO James Black said the SRC met with KickStart For Kids Founder Ian Steel, which confirmed they had chosen an important cause.

“Hearing Ian’s story and the work that KickStart For Kids do with South Australia’s disadvantaged children really resonated with our Perks team,” he said.

“This local, grass roots initiative has helped so many disadvantaged children through its school breakfast and school camp programs and has really made a difference in their lives.

“It really is remarkable what Ian and the hundreds of volunteers supporting this great cause have achieved over the years.

“We felt compelled to get involved and support their mission.”
