Tony Royal is currently the co-owner of Armstrong Wines, former Seppelt (Great Western) winemaker, former CEO of Seguin Moreau Australia, and former CEO and joint owner of Portavin Integrated Wine Services.
Armstrong Vineyards (Great Western) was planted by Stan and Tony Royal, with the first 2ha of shiraz planted in 1989, and a further 4.7ha of shiraz planted in ‘95-96. Low yields (5 – 6 tonnes per ha) mean the wines have and will continue to be produced in limited quantities. In the years since, this child has discovered siblings in the La Lutte & Royal Scribe brands, which offer a range of premium wines from several of Australia’s best wine regions.
