Thrive

Built on the foundation of KickStart for Kids’ strong relationships with students through their primary school years and through programs like Camp KickStart and Future Pathways, Thrive continues that support into high school, offering consistent encouragement, practical assistance, and real-world opportunities as students grow and navigate new challenges.

The dedicated support program is designed to help high school students stay connected, engaged, and on track to achieve their goals both inside and outside the classroom. The team will work with young people who may benefit from extra encouragement, structure, and practical support to stay engaged in their education.

At its core, Thrive is about ensuring every young person feels seen, valued, and supported as they move through this important stage of life. No student should feel like they have to do school alone.

The Four Pillars of Thrive

1. Connection

Regular check-ins to ensure each student feels supported and understood. The team focuses on goal setting, positive accountability, and personalised encouragement to help build confidence and motivation. These relationships create a safe, trusted space where students can talk openly about their goals, challenges, and wins.

2. Support

High school can be challenging academically, socially, and personally. Thrive provides practical assistance with transport, uniforms, equipment, and case management, as well as guidance around school attendance and participation. Students also gain access to school holiday camps and activities that support confidence and wellbeing.

3. Advocacy

We act as a bridge between students, schools, and families, offering guidance and advocacy when challenges arise. Our aim is to make sure every student’s voice is heard and their needs are met. We help students navigate systems, communicate effectively, and feel empowered to advocate for themselves over time.

4. Experiences

Thrive rewards commitment and engagement with meaningful experiences, from hiking trips and AFL games to Adelaide Fringe outings. These experiences build resilience, confidence, social skills, and a sense of belonging beyond the classroom.

How Thrive Works

Thrive is unique one on one mentoring program built on genuine relationships. Many of the young people we support already know us from other programs, giving us valuable insight into their strengths and needs. This continuity means students feel comfortable, supported, and motivated from day one.

The program is just 20 minutes per week per student at a time that suits the school schedule. It integrates seamlessly into existing wellbeing and engagement programs.

Why Thrive Matters

Thrive creates real change for students and schools through connection, encouragement, and practical support.

Boosted Engagement

We inspire students to show up, get involved, and grow. We recognise effort and achievement through encouragement, rewards, and personalised support.
Students build positive habits, confidence, and commitment to their learning.

Holistic Support

We remove practical barriers so every student can fully participate in school life. From uniforms and transport to equipment and guidance, we ensure students feel equipped and included.

Improved Wellbeing

Through consistent check-ins, mentoring, and trusted relationships, we support students early so challenges don’t escalate. Every student has someone they can rely on and talk to, someone in their corner.
