Spread
Spread the Love, Fuel the Future.

We invite workplaces across South Australia to Spread the love for KickStart for Kids by coming together for just one hour to make sandwiches for school kids facing hunger, helping to fuel their day and create real change.
Launched in response to the rising demand for school lunches, and with one in five Australian children living in food insecure households, our newest community-powered initiative, Spread, will offer workplaces a fun, hands on team building experience with a powerful purpose. It is simple, social, and impactful (no ongoing commitment required), yet the difference you make will be felt immediately. In just one hour, your team will work side-by-side to prepare fresh, nutritious sandwiches that go straight to school children who would otherwise go without. Every sandwich you create helps fill a lunchbox, fuel a child’s day, and give them the best chance to learn and grow.
When your workplace team joins Spread, you will:
- Build stronger connections and boost communication across your workplace
- Boost morale and satisfaction through giving back to your community
- Learn about food insecurity in Australia and see the real impact your team makes
- Create lasting memories while making a meaningful difference
- Showcase your support for KickStart for Kids to clients and stakeholders via social media
- Demonstrate corporate social responsibility and inspire purpose beyond work
- Connect with like-minded businesses and community champions
- Support over 360 schools across South Australia through KickStart for Kids programs
- Help feed local kids by preparing fresh sandwiches that go directly to those in need
Spread is more than a sandwich making session, it’s a chance for your workplace to stand together against food insecurity, support local children, and leave with a shared sense of pride and purpose.
KickStart is always in need of food donations of items such as bread, butter, and spreads. If you would like to donate, please visit: https://kickstartforkids.com.au/donate/

How It Works:
For just $500, your team can take part in a hands-on, feel-good volunteering experience that helps fight food insecurity, with every dollar going directly towards feeding kids in need.
We will supply workplaces with all the bread and spreads needed to create hundreds of fresh sandwiches. These sandwiches will then be distributed through our existing lunch program network, which supports over 360 South Australian schools.
Workplaces simply need a team of five or more volunteers, an hour of your time, and a suitable space to participate.
What You Will Do:
- Gather at least 5 volunteers (although you can include as many as you like if you have the space).
- We will provide a minimum of 30 loaves of bread and enough cheese to make approximately 330 sandwiches. For larger groups, we will supply extra to ensure you don’t run out too soon. When you fill out the interest form, we will adjust supplies accordingly.
- Dedicate one hour or until the bread runs out. (For context, our experienced sandwich team can make 300 sandwiches in 2 hours with just two people, so this is easily achievable).
- After submitting your interest form, a KickStart for Kids team member will contact you to schedule a product drop-off, provide setup instructions, and discuss any specifics.
- On the day, your team will prepare the sandwiches. We will come to pick them up afterward and personally thank your team for their effort.
- We would love to take photos during the sessions to share the impact. Permission will be requested on the interest form.
