Rohde Egg Co Helps Deliver Nutritious Breakfasts to South Australian Children
Rohde Egg Co is helping kids across South Australia start their school day with a nutritious breakfast through its ongoing support of KickStart for Kids’ breakfast programs.
Each week, Rohde Egg Co generously donates around 180 dozen eggs to feed underprivileged children in schools across South Australia.
KickStart for Kids Founder, Ian Steel OAM, said support from businesses like Rohde Egg Co plays an important role in allowing the organisation to continue meeting the growing needs of schools and students.
“If children are attending school hungry or encountering hardship, they can’t fully engage with the curriculum, which means they might not achieve the educational outcomes required to succeed”.
Research shows that children who grow up experiencing hardship are more likely to remain uneducated and live in hardship as adults.
Having access to breakfast can help improve concentration, energy levels and readiness to learn, giving students the best possible start to the school day.
Eggs are a valuable addition to school breakfast programs, providing high-quality protein and essential nutrients which contribute to brain development, bone health, immune function, and overall growth. Through their weekly donations, Rohde Egg Co is helping ensure students have access to a healthy breakfast option that not only keeps them full throughout the day but also supports their wellbeing and learning.
Recently, the Rohde Egg Co team visited KickStart for Kids Headquarters to highlight the partnership and positive impact their support continues to have on children and families across South Australia.
The visit was an opportunity to showcase how the support of local businesses like Rohde Egg Co helps make a real difference in the lives of South Australian children through KickStart for Kids programs.
Ian continued, “Our breakfast programs simply wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of community-minded partners like Rohde Egg Co”.
Martin Rohde, the third generation to be running the family egg business which has been operating since 1957, said that, “We like to think that eggs should be accessible for everyone to enjoy for breakfast. They’re so nutritious and help people get going in the morning”.
“The work that KickStart for Kids does for kids across South Australia is tremendous, and for us to play a tiny part in that, we’re grateful to be involved”.
The partnership is a reminder of the meaningful difference local businesses can make when they invest in the wellbeing of their community.
KickStart for Kids is incredibly grateful to Rohde Egg Co for their continued generosity and commitment to supporting South Australian children.
